Lindsey Hunter never imagined she’d be returning to her Cape Cod home pregnant and divorced, but she’s determined to build a new life for her and her unborn baby. When car trouble leaves her stranded on the side of the road, ex-Marine Damien Trent rides to the rescue on his motorbike. Once upon a time, they’d been friends and briefly, they'd been something more...until he enlisted and left her behind. As Lindsey and Damien reconnect, the attraction is still as strong as ever. But Lindsey’s knows Damien's not the staying kind.
Damien would rather do anything than come home to deal with his father’s estate. After years of abuse, he was more than ready to leave town the moment he graduated. With Lindsey back in his life, everything is complicated. He’s used to being a lone wolf - until Lindsey and her newborn baby give him a glimpse of the kind of family and future he’s always dreamed of. Can he be brave enough to reach out and grab it?
Liked the book a lot. Got tired of all the self-castigation on both main characters parts. SO MUCH DOUBT. Nice happy resolution. Would have bee an easy 4 stars except for all the doubt.35
Damien and Lindsey are a well matched couple. Each had their own baggage to overcome. Add to the story one sweet baby Maris and her jerk of a biological “donor” and it makes for a can’t put down HEA novel.55
A tale of family betrayals and love that never really died. The story is well written with interesting characters. Enjoy!55
It was a good book but it could have been better. The storyline was great but it often felt as if the author skimmed over moments that could have been used to heighten the story. There was no real major dilemmas, no plot twist, no surprises. Overall, the book was very predictable. You could literally guess the ending of book. I personally did not like the author’s writing style. Nevertheless, it was a quick, read with a cute story.35
This is a heartwarming story of two broken people helping each other build a life of love and trust well-written with lots of angst55
Sweet story about rekindling lost young love, and learning to let go of the past in order to build a future with the one who loves unconditionally. Lots of hurdles to clear for Damien and Linsey.55
Enjoyed the read - liked the characters55
A heartfelt book. Great read.55
In With the Tide by Charlee James. This is Lindsey Hunter and Damien Trent’s story. This was an entertaining read. Lindsey and Damien went to school together and their paths cross again. They both have difficult issues that they are dealing with. Lindsey is back home recently divorced and pregnant and Damien is back home to bury his father that abused him. I really liked Lindsey and Damien’s characters. Can Lindsey and Damien find true love, happiness, and healing from their past hurts? I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.45
