Jack Winchester was a notorious hitman for a ruthless New Jersey crime family until a job went wrong, and he wound up serving time.
Four years later, Jack is free and he wants out of the game, but his boss won't let him go. Forced to take on one last job to make amends for what landed him in prison, he travels to the small town of Rockland Cove, Maine.
There, he not only discovers that the target and money have disappeared; he finds himself falling for a damaged woman, and befriending an unruly son left behind.
Under mounting pressure from his boss and local police—as well as the ghosts of his past—he must unravel the mystery and decide where his loyalties lie…before it's too late.
Note: Even though there are 10 books. This is a full standalone novel with a complete ending.
Realized that I’d read this book previously, but continued on to the end. A good read even the second time around.55
Fast paced and lots of deception, which is so typical of the Mob life. Can you ever outrun them and lead a somewhat normal life? Good book, didn’t want it to end.55

Enjoyed but hoping he can find that new life - near impossible to break away. Am looking forward to next.45
My first time ever reading a book of this genre but, guess what, I couldn’t NOT finish it. It was really good!55
Jack Winchester could easily pass as a cousin to Jack Reacher... Rugged, heroic, tough, ruthless at times and compassionate on occasion. This is a good storyline about a man breaking his ties with the mob. RECOMMENDED55
A well written story that kept me interested from the first to last chapter.45
